DSK Council of Advisors Meeting

The third meeting of the DSK Council of Advisors took place on November 23, 2024, under the chairmanship of the distinguished lawyer, Barrister Shafique Ahmed. The session was held both online and offline.
The meeting was facilitated by DSK’s Secretary-General, Professor Dr. A. S. M. Golam Mortuza.
During the meeting, Dr. Dibalok Singha, the Executive Director of DSK, presented the report on the organization’s activities for the 2023-24 fiscal year. The discussion included valuable contributions from the respected members of the Advisory Council, such as renowned pediatrician Professor Dr. Nazmun Nahar, economist Dr. Debapriya Bhattacharya, microfinance expert Dr. Dharmapuram S. K. Rao, public health specialist Professor Dr. Rashid-E-Mahbub, Professor Dr. Mostafizur Rahman, WASH expert Engineer John Lane, and economist Dr. Anjan Datta.
During the discussions, the Council of Advisors members praised DSK’s programs aimed at improving the lives of the poor and disadvantaged, its workforce management, and governance systems. They also called for the expansion of initiatives in health, education, water and sanitation, emergency relief and rehabilitation, climate change and disaster resilience, and livelihoods through microfinance. Several suggestions were also provided for the development of the programs.
The President of DSK, the valiant freedom fighter Professor Dr. Nur Mohammad Talukder, expressed his gratitude to the Council of Advisors members for their valuable recommendations on poverty alleviation and development activities and encouraged them to stay engaged in DSK’s future endeavors.
During the meeting, three former presidents of DSK, whose wisdom, intellect, and leadership have guided the organization for three eras were honored. They are Professor Dr. Nazmun Nahar, Barrister Shafique Ahmed, and the valiant freedom fighter Professor Dr. A. B. M. Abdullah.
Members of DSK’s Executive Committee and the chairs of various sub-committees were also present at the DSK Council of Advisors meeting.
