DSK Launches Comprehensive One-Month Basic Training Program for Community Health Workers (CHWs)

Dushtha Shasthya Kendra (DSK) has embarked on a remarkable journey to empower community health workers with essential skills through a one-month comprehensive basic training program. The initiative, led by DSK’s Training Division, kicked off on January 26, 2025, at the organization’s head office, bringing together 23 enthusiastic health workers eager to make a difference.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by DSK’s Executive Director, Dr. Dibalok Singha, who emphasized the importance of building a robust healthcare workforce. The event also featured esteemed guests, including Dr. Mahmudur Rahman, Director (Health); Professor Dr. Abdur Rashid (Specialist Physician); Professor Dr. Shamsunnahar (Gynecology and Obstetrics Specialist); Dr. Kallol Chowdhury, Joint Director (Health); and Md. Abu Bakar, Joint Director (Training), along with other dedicated members of the DSK team.

This intensive training program aims to equip health workers with the knowledge and expertise needed to address critical healthcare challenges. The curriculum focuses on key areas such as maternal and child health, prevention of infectious and non-infectious diseases, safe water and sanitation, neonatal care, nutrition for mothers and children, essential vaccinations, family planning, and the effective use of essential medicines.

With this training, these dedicated health workers are set to become agents of change, delivering life-saving services and creating lasting impacts in the lives of countless individuals.
