Flood Relief

Dushtha Shasthya Kendra (DSK) has provided humanitarian assistance to 1,128 marginalized families under the post-flood life and livelihood development program in the most affected areas of Sitakunda, Nizampur, Mirsharai Sadar, Zorarganj, Abutorab, and Korerhat in Mirsharai Upazila, which were highly affected by the recent floods. Each family received 3,000 taka, and the total amount of assistance is 3,384,000 taka. This assistance has been transferred to the DSK members’ mobile accounts through “Mobile Financial Services.” DSK also covered withdrawal costs of 48,375 taka.
Apart from that, the DSK has been providing free medical assistance to flood-affected residents in several villages such as Banduin, Shikchail, Pomgoan, Boro Chandpur, Ullapara, Kasipur, Dakhin Fenua, Uttar Haora, Narayanpur, Ashiyadari, Haora, Moishatuya, Katunipara, Banglaish, Upazila Health Complex of Monohorgonj, Cumilla District, from September 16 to 30, 2024. By September 22, they had treated 1,022 patients and distributed free medicines. A total fund of 5 million BDT has been set aside for the affected communities, including 2.44 million from a day’s salary of DSK staffs and 2.56 million from the disaster relief fund. This fund will provide cash support, medical services, and educational materials for students.
